Trimpin@Stanford

Sound artist and musical inventor Trimpin makes a series of intensive visits to campus this season, to meet and collaborate with students, faculty and the campus community in preparation for his new work the Gurs Zyklus. Trimpin also co-teaches a course in interactive instrument design in collaboration with faculty at CCRMA and the Sculpture department this winter.

Trimpin’s residency and commission are part of a campus-wide, year-long “Memory” programming theme, a continuation and expansion of the “Art + Invention” project last year, which brings together departments across campus—from the Stanford Center on Longevity, to the Department of Art to the Dance Division and Department of Drama—to create new programs that embrace campus art-making and make connections across the disciplines. Visit this page throughout the season to learn more about Trimpin’s upcoming public programs through Lively Arts, SiCa, the Aurora Forum, and Stanford Continuing Studies.
