Tell a Friend

Toradze Piano Studio member Nikita Abrosimov performs the great Piano Concerto No. 2, which the pianist Alexander Toradze understands as a requiem for the composer’s friend Maksimilian Shmitgoff, who had committed suicide. In Toradze’s own words: “The concerto is Shmitgoff’s life and funeral, the bereavement Prokofiev experienced and his desire to turn the clock back.”

Program

Prokofiev: Classical Symphony; Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 2; Prokofiev:Romeo and Juliet Suite (with puppetry commissioned by Lively Arts)
