Two legendary forces in new music since the 1980s come together on stage in their first-ever collaboration, presenting a new evening-length work that combines their distinct yet highly compatible aesthetics. Praised for her “mystery, melodrama, and humor” (New York Times), Anderson is recognized worldwide for the singular marriage of technology and humanity in her work—alternately playing the roles of composer, poet, filmmaker, singer, and more. The recipients of the Polar Music Prize and Avery Fisher Award, Kronos Quartet mark their 40th anniversary in 2013, having journeyed with countless audiences through a repertoire that rings the globe and that spans from early music to more than 750 works commissioned by or for Kronos.
