Mark Applebaum's Concerto for Florist and Ensemble

Stanford composer Mark Applebaum’s eccentric Concerto for Florist and Ensemble features performance florist James DelPrince, whose materials include artichokes, barbed wire, police crime scene tape, local prairie grasses, and skewered green apples alongside pretty flowers. While DelPrince works deftly with pruning shears and glue gun, an all-star ensemble of new music improvisers perform a mercurial and vibrant musical score, complete with idiosyncratic Dadaist rituals.

Performance takes place in the Cantor Center's Inner Courtyard, accessed through the main lobby. Doors open at 6:30 pm and seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
