Internships

Requirements: We are seeking Stanford students who have a background in the arts or strong interest in the arts at Stanford; experience working within a complex university structure, a spirit of generosity in dealing with people with varied backgrounds, and a demonstrated, personal investment in follow-through and detail. These are paid positions through June 2013.

Artist Hospitality: Work on arranging travel, hotel, local transportation and catering for artists. Work backstage at performances providing hospitality to visiting artists and Stanford peformers.

Arts Finance and Human Resources Administration: Work on spreadsheets and reports, org charts and flow charts for the arts business at Stanford.

Arts General Management: – work with the Executive Director of Stanford Live to learn about the arts management business.

Campus Engagement: (please see job description for Artist Engagement Intern and Engagement Media Intern). Please note this position is up to 20 hours a week for a graduate student.

Community Engagement: Work on coordination, management and production of K-12 student matinees at Bing Concert Hall, preparation of written teacher and student guides, and production of off-campus events with visiting artists at community partner sites as well as teacher workshops and other community-focused events on campus.

Patron Services: Seeking one exceptional undergraduate or graduate student with customer service experience for 5-10 hours per week. Aide the Patron Services Manager, House Manager and Volunteer Manager with tasks including administrative, phone communication, data entry and box office relations. Work in our offices with possible hours at the new Bing Concert Hall. May include some Saturdays. Begin on or around Oct. 20.

Production and Arts Facilities Management: Assist in developing schedules and facilities management as Stanford works towards opening the new Bing Concert Hall in January 2013.

Hours: Approximately 5-10 hours per week, some roles include weekend and weeknight hours, particularly working at performances. Campus Engagement role is up to 20 hours per week.

Pay: Most roles $12.50-14.00 per hour, but may be up to $18.00 per hour depending on the complexity of the role.
