Bob Cable, Public Relations Manager

Bob Cable, Lively Arts’ public relations manager since December of 2006, has over a decade of experience in arts communications and public relations. Before joining Stanford, he was most recently at the Los Angeles Opera where he promoted such high-profile events as the world premiere of Elliot Goldenthal and Julie Taymor’s “Grendel,” a co-commission with the Lincoln Center Festival. Beginning in 1998, Mr. Cable worked for the San Francisco Opera, first in the Opera Center’s young artist training programs, then later serving as the company’s public relations manager until 2005. During that time, he implemented publicity campaigns for the critically-acclaimed U.S. premiere of Messiaen’s "Saint François d'Assise" and the world premiere of Jake Heggie and Terrence McNally’s "Dead Man Walking," which was the subject of an Emmy-winning KQED-produced PBS documentary. Originally from Ohio, Mr. Cable studied voice and music history at Kent State University before beginning his career in the arts at the Cleveland Opera. He resides in San Francisco.
